"Hellhounds on Their Trail" some copies remain in the UK

16-Sep-2003

Several of you have written me looking for first edition copies of "Hellhounds on Their Trail." I was under the impression that all copies were sold out and that none remained. Obviously, that is why used book dealers are asking such outrageous prices for copies.

Last May I noticed that Amazon.Com in the UK was offering "Hellhounds" with a completely different ISBN number and what appeared to be a UK publisher. Since I own all rights to the book and have not signed away my UK rights I became interested and ordered a copy. I received several emails from Amazon.Com UK telling me that the book would be delayed another six weeks and if they could not find the book my credit card would not be charged. Last week, I received an email telling me the book had shipped and today I now hold in my hands a first edition Dowling Press copy of "Hellhounds on Their Trail." The British distributor had pasted another ISBN over the Dowling numbers. My total cost was around $28.00 with shipping and handling.

The new updated version of "Hellhounds", "Take a Walk on the Darkside: Rock and Roll Myths, Legends, and Curses," is due out in March and can now be pre-ordered from Amazon.Com for under $14.00, but if you'd like to own a collector's edition of the first printing you can try to order a copy from Amazon.Com in the UK. Good luck and let me know if you were as successful as I.

Best Wishes,

Gary
