“The Day the Music Died”–50 years later on Coast to Coast the night of January 30, 2009

I’m very excited to announce that Coast to Coast will have me on the night of January 30th to discuss “The Day the Music Died” 50 years later. For those of you who know me, you know that I have a passion for those artists who helped shape my life with their music. I admit I’m the luckiest guy in the world because many legendary artists are my friends. Last year I decided, with Coast to Coast’s help, to bring many of those friends on the air with me to help in telling some of the greatest stories in pop culture. The first production was when I arranged for a show with the Doors. Well, I can’t stop now. On January 30th George and I will be discussing “The Day the Music died.” I’ve spoken with Peggy Sue Gerron (Buddy Holly’s Peggy Sue), Donna Ludwig Fox (Ritchie Valens’ “Donna”), the Big Bopper, jr., and Tommy Allsop. You may remember that Tommy flipped a coin with Ritchie Valens for the last seat on the plane that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, the Big Bopper, . The legendary Surf Ballroom was the last performance for the Big Bopper, Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens. We will hear the inside stories, the strange circumstances that followed the crash and some new information that you will only receive on Coast to Coast. The show will be on Friday night so hopefully you can sleep in on Saturday!

Last week I was brought on Coast to Coast to help with an Elvis show. I’m sorry I didn’t get a newsletter out but I was notified on the show the day before and I was traveling and made it at the last minute. I always try to notify each of you when I do a show.

In the future I’m putting together a couple of more shows for Coast to Coast that will follow in the footsteps of the Doors and “the Day the Music Died.” All I can say is that I’m sure you will enjoy them!

If anyone would like me to sign a copy of one om my books, just reply to my email and I’ll send you the directions in getting you book to me. I intend to give away a copy of “Take a Walk on the Darkside” in my next newsletter!

Did everyone get to see “Doomed to Die: 13 Curses?” I think it was interesting BUT I would have put the curses in a different order and I would have included a few others. One I intend to go into great detail the night of January 30th! I hope all of you are well and I hope I get a chance to chat with yo on the air Friday night!

Best wishes and keep rocking–I know I am! 🙂
